Tara Counts, PA-C
Tara Counts joins ADVENT as a graduate of Ohio University, where she received her Master of Physician Assistant Practice (MPAP) degree in 2019.
After receiving both her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and MPAP at Ohio University, Tara began her clinic rotations on a myriad of units including, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Woman’s Health, Urgent Care, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine before finding her home in Otolaryngology. It was in these roles she was able to provide care for a diverse number of patients and allowing her love for medicine to flourish. Her role at ADVENT includes conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, providing counsel on preventive health care, assisting with surgery and writing prescriptions. Within the physician PA relationship, Tara provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Tara shares ADVENT’s passion for creating a patient-physician relationship that’s built on compassion, trust, understanding, and open communication. Her goal is to create a comfortable, judgement-free environment to ensure the patient is confident their personalized care plan provides the best overall outcome.
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Tara recently relocated to Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys adventuring through the city where there is never a shortage of things to experience. Tara is also a life-long “dog person.” She grew up with a sheltie and now has a golden retriever. Playing at the park with her dog is one of her favorite ways to unwind.
