Experience
"It is a privilege to care for each of my patients. I put great effort into achieving mutual respect and trust. This is key to delivering positive outcomes for them."

About Me
Ryan Funk, MD’s philosophy of addressing his patients’ concerns as a whole versus only looking at their symptoms, is in total alignment with ADVENT’s unique approach to medical care.
Dr. Funk earned his undergraduate in Chemistry from Bradley University and his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin. During his residency at Southern Illinois University, he was recognized and awarded for his clinical and research accomplishments, including being named an initiate in the American College of Surgeons as well as being inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.
He knows the importance of building relationships with his patients to understand their issues fully. This drives him to provide the highest quality of care specific to his patients and gives them the best opportunity to find success.

Personal
When Dr. Funk is not in the office, you can find him enjoying time with his wife and children, most likely outdoors, camping, hiking, or fishing.

FAQ
What can I expect on my first visit?
At your first visit, we'll focus on finding the facts with an exam to ensure we understand the root of your issue. We'll talk with you about your goals and design a plan specific to you. ADVENT is the only ENT clinic that provides you with a complete Breathing Triangle Evaluation.
Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?
Most insurance does not require a referral. If yours does, we can let you know.
How can I check to see if my insurance is in-network?
Easy! Check our in-network insurance list: Wisconsin | Illinois | Indiana | Minnesota
If you're still not sure, call us and we'll help you sort it out: 888.938.3838
How long does recovery take?
Most patients experience very little (if any) downtime. You can resume normal activity on the day of the procedure depending on how you're feeling. You may feel like you have a slight cold the day after your procedure. It is recommended to avoid any excessive or strenuous activity for 48 hours after the procedure.
How is ADVENT different than other clinics?
One of the many reasons patients choose us is because we have a 99.7% referral rate. We also do something no other ENT clinic does: we give our patients a complete Breathing Triangle Evaluation. This evaluation is unique to ADVENT and puts a 100% focus on your airway issues. This allows us to get to the root of your snoring or sinus issue. The Breathing Triangle Evaluation has helped over 31,000 ADVENT patients breathe and sleep better.
