You won't understand how much of your life you are missing until you experience what breathing freely is really like.
You cannot live if you cannot breathe … Okay, that sounds like a no brainer. Obviously you need to breathe to live. But you also cannot truly live to the fullest and healthiest potential if your breathing is obstructed or compromised.
Poor breathing can lead to:
- Unrestful and unfulfilling sleep - leaving you tired and unable to focus
- Inability to perform tasks well - whether it be daily tasks or more strenuous activities like exercise, hobbies or playing with your kids
- Chronic pain and discomfort - sore throat, headaches, sinus pain and pressure that take away from your general well-being and feeling good
- Long-term illness and ailments - low levels of oxygen in the blood caused by sleep apnea can increase your risk for stroke, heart attack or diabetes
If you suffer from breathing issues like chronic sinus infections, mouth breathing, nightly congestion, snoring, or sleep apnea, it is affecting your life. Maybe even more than you realize.
Optimal breathing can influence stronger lungs, a healthier heart, and a lower risk of disease. Airflow starts at the nose, and if the nose isn't working properly, it's going to affect your airflow. Airflow…that's how much and how efficiently air is brought into your body. Just like a car with a plugged fuel filter will conk out, a body with a plugged nose ain't going to run very well. This negatively impacts every single day of your life.
To determine the quality of breathing, we use our trademarked proven process called The Breathing Triangle® evaluation. During this evaluation, our care providers will assess your current state of your breathing triangle, identify the root cause of your breathing or sleep issues, and determine the right solution to help you achieve optimal breathing.
Here's how the ADVENT Patient Journey® works:
Your New Patient Appointment & Breathing Triangle Evaluation
You arrive at an ADVENT office and are greeted by a Patient Services Team Member. This visit is focused on fact finding, along with a comprehensive Breathing Triangle Evaluation with a tiny, lighted scope to assess the inside of your nose and throat. This ensures we understand the root of your issue as well as your goals to achieve better breathing.
At-Home Sleep Study
If your primary concerns are snoring or sleep apnea, you'll go home with a non-invasive sleep study. Comfortably worn on your finger while you sleep and operated with a mobile app, you'll be able to review your snoring and breathing patterns and monitor oxygen levels.
In-Office CT Scan
During this CT scan, we will assess your anatomic structure in order to identify the issues that are shutting down your airflow. Your results will immediately be reviewed by a specialized provider and your treatment options will be discussed.
Customized Treatment Plan
Based on the results and findings of your scans and studies, your physician will determine the best course of action which may include a balloon sinuplasty or turbinate reduction. These minimally-invasive procedures are performed in the office and are so simple, many patients get back to their daily lives the very next day, with no downtime.
It's easy to take things for granted. Especially the "small things" that are so ingrained in us that they normally don't even deem attention. Things like our five senses, breathing freely, and a nose that works properly.
And when these things fail us, it's impossible not to notice. However, if you never experience them to their truest potential, maybe you never even knew the difference to begin with.
If you're not breathing properly, it will completely take over and control your life, but the good news is, there is hope for a solution.
