Balloon Sinuplasty
Chronic sinusitis can lead to a frustrating cycle of doctor visits, antibiotic therapy, and temporary relief until the cycle occurs all over again. If you have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis and are not responding well to antibiotics, you may be a candidate for Balloon Sinuplasty. This revolutionary treatment for blocked sinuses offers a minimally-invasive option for patients who do not need, or may not want, extensive sinus surgery.
ADVENT Founder and President, Dr. Madan Kandula, was the first surgeon in Wisconsin to perform balloon sinuplasty and has treated more patients with this technology than anyone else in the state. Years after having traditional sinus surgery himself, Dr. Kandula decided to undergo in-office balloon sinuplasty and turbinate reduction after he began to experience stuffiness while laying down at night. Watch as he narrates his own procedure and shares what you can expect during and after the procedure.

Balloon Sinuplasty at ADVENT
Balloon Sinuplasty is an endoscopic, catheter-based procedure for patients suffering from sinusitis. The vast experience of our Physicians enables them to treat even severe cases with balloon sinuplasty, and expand the range of patients that can now benefit from this low-key procedure. In order to properly determine if you are a good candidate for Balloon Sinuplasty, you will start at step one of ADVENT's Patient Journey.
Step 1

Finally get answers to your sinus questions. Your first visit is focused on finding the facts with an exam to ensure we understand the root of your issue. We'll discuss your goals and design a plan specific to you. If this visit is in-office, you will receive a comprehensive evaluation of your Breathing Triangle®.
Step 2

Understand what is going on inside your nasal passages with an in-office CT Scan. Your provider will immediately review the results with you and discuss a personalized plan to solve your issues. We'll help you navigate the complexities of insurance. Before you begin your treatment plan, you can get an estimate of all out-of-pocket costs.
Step 3

On the day of your Balloon Sinuplasty, your nasal passages will be numbed with a local anesthetic and a small, flexible balloon catheter will be used to enlarge the affected sinus passageway to restore normal sinus drainage.

Recovery from a Balloon Sinuplasty is quick, and patients can return to their usual activities the next day. You’ll return for a 1-week, 3-week, 6-week and 12-week follow-up visit to ensure your recovery is on track.
