What is Sleep Apnea?
(And how do I know if I have it?)
Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a disorder where you stop breathing while you sleep...and you don't even know it's happening! Your tongue and muscles in your throat relax and collapse in on your airway, making it a struggle for air to pass through as you naturally inhale and exhale. Essentially, you’re suffocating in your sleep…
Symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea include:
- Loud snoring
- Gasping for air when asleep
- Feeling tired during the day
- Change in moods
- Frequent headaches
We do it all...by NOT doing it all
We’ve Ditched the “Jack of All Trades” Ideology to Focus On and Conquer the Issues Going On Behind Your Nose
Our board-certified medical providers aren’t distracted by generalities, because their specialties are narrowed to one singular focus — an area we refer to as The Breathing Triangle: the two sides of your nose and your throat. These are the most important passages in your body because they are the gateway to your airway. AND this is where the answers to your snoring and sinus issues live.
What is The Breathing Triangle? Well, simply put...you have 3 holes in your head to breathe: your nose and mouth. If any of these airways are not working the right way, life becomes miserable.
We Attack The Root Cause of Your Issue
You see, whether it’s a sinus issue, sleep issue, or both that you suffer with, we attack it at its source. We solve the root cause of your problem by starting with one of two primary nose issues:
1: Your nose is too tight
2: Your nose is overactive
And in most cases, one issue can cause the other, creating a vicious cycle of pain and discomfort.
3 steps to sinus & snoring relief:
1: Book Your Appointment
It’s easy! Book online in less than 60 seconds. Your first visit is only 30 minutes.
2: Solutions Designed For You
No temporary fixes. We’ll uncover the root of your issue and find the solution that’s right for you.
3: Breathe Freely 24/7
Enjoy more energy, restful sleep and finally live the life you deserve.
Nose issues? It's 1 of 2 things:
Issue #1
Your Nose is Too Tight
Sometimes your nose is simply too tight. This can be due to injury or things you were simply born with. Things like a deviated septum, polyps, or enlarged turbinates (the soft structures inside your nose) are often the culprit. Essentially though, it’s any kind of obstruction that makes nasal breathing more difficult.
Issue #2
Your Nose is Overreactive
Just like your skin protects the outside of your body, your mucus membrane protects the inside of your nose. Allergens, debris, and pathogens can cause this lining to become inflamed and irritated -- which kicks it into overdrive. This leads to frustrating chronic symptoms such as congestion or a nose that leaks like a faucet.
The good news is we have simple in-office procedures to help fix both these issues.
ADVENT has answers
And Long-Term Solutions for Sinus, Sleep Apnea & Snoring Relief
Here’s the thing: You could go to your general physician or a sleep center, but none have the proven clinical process that ADVENT has. And if you're struggling with obstructive sleep apnea, the common fix for most providers is to simply give you a CPAP machine. But the reality is that without a proper evaluation and a nose that works as it should, a CPAP won't work as it is designed to.
Sleep apnea sufferers deserve options. That's why we'll address the root cause of your issue and give you options to treat your sleep apnea:
Oral Appliance
A simple solution that operates much like a mouthguard. It gently pulls your jaw forward preventing your tongue from relaxing into your throat causing your airway to shut down.
CPAP
The continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, forces air into your airway through a mask and hose. This air pressure keeps your airway open, but only if your nose is working properly.
Surgery
Sometimes simple surgical procedures that alter the anatomy of the airway are the best option to permanently fix your sleep apnea.
