Sleep
Well

Sleepless nights, pharmacy visits and fatigue from snoring or sleep apnea takes a toll on your motivation, productivity, relationships and overall energy levels. If you have found that a CPAP machine is not working for you, you may be a candidate for a permanent solution like Snoreplasty (Uvulectomy).

As we age or gain weight, our tissue and muscles often change shape and lose rigidity and strength, causing the uvula to lower and produce obnoxious snoring.

Snoreplasty includes a hardening agent injection and removal of part of the uvula to recreate the shape and rigidity.

Step 1

step-1-line

During your first visit, we'll evaluate The Breathing Triangle®. This examination of your nose and throat with a tiny, lighted camera is crucial to finding the root of your snoring or sleep apnea concerns.

Step 2

Home Sleep Study ADVENT
step-2-line

Your provider may recommend an at home sleep study. Conveniently worn for one night, the at home sleep study measures snoring and oxygen levels to help detect sleep apnea.

Step 3

step-3-line

An in-office CT scan will help us get a greater view of your anatomy. During that same visit, a board-certified physician will immediately review the results with you and discuss a personalized approach to alleviating any nasal or throat obstructions that may be the root of your snoring or sleep apnea.

Step 4

step-2-line

If it is determined blocked sinus passageways are contributing to your sleep concerns, your Physician may recommend a simple, in-office procedure or medical management, like CPAP, prior to a Snoreplasty. A Treatment Coordinator will schedule your procedure and answer any insurance questions you have.

On the day of the procedure, a topical and local anesthetic will be used to numb the uvula and a hardening (sclerosing) agent is injected above the uvula to stiffen the palate. A minimally invasive technique is used to remove part of the uvula. If a second injection may be scheduled in 6-8 weeks to achieve the best results.

“Before my procedure, I had a lot of headaches on a regular basis – I was missing work, not able to participate in my kids lives or family social life and those have gone away. It’s been very life-changing as I got my life back and I am able to fully engage and enjoy the things we like to do as a family.”
