Office-Based CT Scanning: How Does It Work?
Establishing a proper care plan for treating your sinus and/or sleep concerns and getting you the relief you deserve depends on making an accurate diagnosis. ADVENT’s approach to CT scanning takes the inconvenience of a hospital visit or imaging center, the discomfort of a full-body scan, and the unnecessary wait time for results out of the equation.
At ADVENT, we offer state-of-the-art, office-based CT scan technology, making your comfort and convenience a top priority. But first, let’s cover the basics:
What is a CT Scan?
A CT (computerized tomography) scan combines a series of X-ray images from different angles around your body. It uses a computer process to create cross-section images or slices of your bones, blood vessels and soft tissue.
How is a CT Scan Different Than an X-Ray?
A CT scan combines a series of X-ray images, while an X-ray is one flat image. A CT scan provides a diagnostic examination of your body’s internal structure, where an X-ray is used to detect dislocations and fractures of the bone, as well as detect cancers and pneumonia.
CT Scanning at ADVENT
Along The Patient Journey™, we take a comprehensive approach to addressing your concerns and getting to the root of your symptoms. Following an evaluation of The Breathing Triangle® to get a physical look at your nose and throat, we will take a CT scan of your facial anatomy. This approach helps guide us to making the best recommendations for a proper treatment plan.
